: Slow endings. Chasing Amy. Or so it felt last time I watched it. Not that it was a bad thing, I fucking loved it, really! The last hour of the film is about 8 (roughly) 5-10 minutes scenes with a couple of quick cuts here and there. Fucking marvellous!
Yeah, I recently watched CHASING AMY again and it dawned on me what a great film it is. It's always been my favorite of Kevin's films, but that last viewing really got to me. Actually, I'm going through something kinda similar to what Holden was going through at the moment, so maybe that's why- for the first time I was able to really IDENTIFY with the film and realized just how real everything Kevin wrote in it is. The film really is a masterpiece.
: OK Vincent, if you're reading this, sorry. Here's the Q I mentioned in the heading...
: Is everything cut from the film (proper stuff incl. snippets and not fucked up framing, etc) on the DVD?
: I was just wondering because I just found out a few second (if that?) clip wasnt on the Chasing Amy Laser/DVD because it was not worthwile although I would have still loved to see it.
: Glen;)
Sorry to say there's TONS of stuff that I cut from A BETTER PLACE that won't be on the DVD. Quite frankly, some of those lines and scenes that I trimmed make me cringe and I'd rather they not be seen. I picked a nice assortment of deleted scenes, but there's nothing else in the deleted material that I ever want seen.
Okay, there's one line of Ryan's that I actually wish I'd never cut- after he says to Todd at the end, "Don't waste your last breaths", the line originally continued with Ryan saying, "I am the one with the gun, it is up to me. God is not going to save you now." While reloading all the dialogue into a ProTools system for the Skywalker remix, I came across the full line and smacked myself for having cut it. I don't know what I was thinking during the original edit.
