That was my initial reaction after reading Vincent's post too. Of course, the one DVD I can think of that's received such a treatment already is PTA's Boogie Nights, which went through several editions before the double-DVD set was dubbed the "final" version. I can't think of others, but I'm sure there have been several.
It's a hard decision to make, because even PTA (whose doesn't even have a webpage for his fans, much less a forum for them to ask him questions) acknowledged that while multiple editions are sometimes necessary in order to create a product that the director/creative people are happy with, it's very hard on a fan's wallet/pocketbook.
Personally, I'd spring for the Criterion SE or SE SE or whatever it would be called - it would be a great way to get the documentary back in there. Of course, it would probably piss crackbaby and a multitude of others off.

: Thanks Vincent, what a nightmare! I guess absolutely no heads will roll at Columbia Tristar for this. Any chance of a Dogma SE SE? :-)
