Somebody needed to take Wolfgang Petersen by the hand, and just give him a good bitchslap now and then to keep him on the course. Don't get me wrong; I don't normally have a problem with him - I think a lot of directors have the same problem of getting "too close to the project", and not knowing when to trim stuff out of the film (*cough*"Pearl Harbor"*cough*).
: I also don't care what anybody says - I thought that a lot of the computer-generated effects looked like total crap. Some of 'em were OK, but that damn shot of Marky Mark standin' in front of the completely digitized sunset nearly drove me into a theater-lobby killing spree.
