...you find me - metaphorically speaking, natch.
yah, i don't find 'Pat' much funny either. (Mr Lynch, you said if i didn't like it you'd be doing something very, very right, or summink - so hey!).
but i can't think of a comic strip that i've read that i have found really funny, so maybe it's a format thing. i mean, i think i might have thought, like, yeah, that's pretty funny or cool or whatever about some 'Garfield' and 'Calvin and Hobbes' and 'Hagar the Horrible', but i don't think i've actually laughed out loud at any comic strip.
moreso, i'm not a fan of the single frame style of 'ANP'. i kinda prefered Lynch's multi-framed 'Sod and Git' run. b'hey.
i guess this isn't much critisism. it's more my comments. (you know, in case you were wondering or something...).
oh, and on a point of a recent 'Pat': LOL, ROFL and such acronymage is crappy but smiley faces are good. you see, when speaking (well, writing) conversationally on webboards or e-mail you're without vocal style communication to indicate meaning (like, if you're joking or being serious) so smiley faces can be helpful.
:)
is nice.
: But please tell me you think Monkey Man is, in fact, as the kids are wont to say,the shizznit.
i'm not quite sure what that means...
but from what i read of the Monkey Man question bit on the ANP site thing, yeah, i did find that kinda funny. although being 'inspired' by a mass-hysteria thing that apparently lead to people dying is somewhat dodgy...
Lynch's Monkey Man is kinda an addition to the funky speakage characters of such greats as Tarzan, Hulk and Grimlock. which is a good thing for the comedy, i think. :)
so, i'm not dissing Mr Lynch. i'm not a fan of the 'ANP' strips but when he isn't being a nasty bitch, the man can do funny.
