Why was McHenry, IL used for Dogma script?

I am from northern Illinois, the town next to McHenry (Fox Lake if anybody cares). I was wondering if anybody knows WHY Kev choose McHenry for the "location" (even though the scenes weren't filmed there). Just curious. McHenry isn't that big of a town, its a very obscure choice since nothing has happened there, and its like an hour from chicago, and 1 1/2 hours from milwaukee.. kinda in the "Sticks" as i refer to it.
