Yeah, there were edits in MALLRATS too, but they tended to be like a line here and there. That one on DOGMA is like 30 seconds of silence so it really sticks out. On DVD sites you'll sometimes see people say that companies like Criterion are no longer needed since major studios make their own special editions- what those folks don't realize is that studio-made special editions are subject to intense scrutiny by the studio legal departmens, and studio legal departments are, quite frankly, anal-retentive pussies. They don't want to offend ANYBODY. I doubt any of those edits would have been made if MALLRATS and DOGMA were done by an outside, small label like Criterion.
