Kevin doesn't allow adlibbing because he thinks very highly of his
own writing, quite understandably. He wrote the shit, he's the director,
this is what he wants said and this is how he wants it said. If he
wanted it different, he would have written it different.
That is how Kevin feels.
Now there have been two or three small adlibs in the history of View
Askew films.
The ones I know of are:
1. Affleck likes to add the word "fuck" to a lot of sentences where it
wasn't written. If a sentence already contains the word fuck, he'll add
a second, or third, etc. Kevin mentions this in the Chasing Amy
commentary.
2. Affleck screamed something about "Schueller Bob" as Kevin threw
him out of the train in Dogma. It is an inside joke, and it's mentioned
in the Summaries, but Kevin left it in because you can't understand
him anyway.
