The film was probably (I'm not sure, this is just a guess) not played in the theaters because of the religous controversy.
When the movie came out here in the states a bunch of folks claimed it was blasphemous (spelling?) and such and caused a BIG problem for Mirimax who ended up selling the movie. A lot of people were cautious of it and a few countries didn't give it a theatrical run because of that.

: The film dogma was really a good example for us to learn how angels cut their wings and why they prefer to live like a mortal ... On the other hand the players were really successfull especially Ben Aflleck and Matt Damon ... I watched the film last month and ư was looking for a site to sahare my feelings abaout the film .I am living in Turkey and we didn't have a chance to watch Dogma at the movie why it happened like that? ư have no idea . Iwould like to learn the reason for this and ư would like to see Ben affleck in your films again .... loves from Turkey
