: I recently watched Chasing Amy again and noticed something that bothered me. When Alysa and Holden are getting accuainted in the (unbenowst to later) gay and/or lesbian bar, Alysa reveals where she grew up. The line "little town New Jersy" is one that is said with such annoyance that I can't explain.. what did you think? (perhaps on commentary you have discussed this) just curious.

I don't have a copy of the script, and I may be wrong (and if I am I'm SURE that I'll hear about it SOON) but I'm pretty sure that Alyssa says "Middletown" not "little town". Middletown being a small town near Red Bank and Leonardo. I don't think she's annoyed- she seems to be saying it kinda sing-song -ey... it's a happy, you'll recognize this for sure kinda thing.

You may preface this while thing with a "I'm pretty sure" or maybe an IMHO.

Namaste

Ben
