I don't trust a diet that cuts out a food group.

It's too wierd for my taste. You do need some carbohydrates and some real fat in your diet or you can't process vitamins and minerals, most of which are fat-soluble. And supposably if you eat meat you'll get the fat you need, but eating that much meat really isn't good for you.

Westerners do eat much more meat and carbohydrates than they need, but if you aren't vegetarian you should have at least one serving of each a day, and not much more than that.

If people would just eat whole grains and vegetables, they'd be set. Give me some beans, rice and corn all jambalaya'ed up and hey mon, I'll be talking in a worse Jamaican accent than Cleo. And unless you're looking to give Geraldo his big comeback story, get away from your computers and get some exercise. Dieting is not the answer.

: ...I find that proponents of the lo-carb diet of the manical Dr. Atkins can be like AMWAY salesmen in their pushiness, or bell-rining Jehovah's Witnesses..

: But honestly, that crazy metabolic loophole WORKS. I got my best friend to try it; he has ALWAYS been way overweight since highschool, and he has dropped 100 pounds in 7 months.

: You might want to pick up that book, give it a read. Couldn't hurt, and HEY! You get to eat bacon.
