Good 'ol PGL. I, too, entered that contest of contests, had higher hopes than I claimed and, of course, lost. What really irked me about the contest was that I spent a LONG time reviewing 6 other scripts, writing lengthy comments, being fair and (hopefully) informative - I mean, I like to think I was doing what one SHOULD do when they're a competitor in a "community" type contest. But, when I got back my three reviews, I realized that I was an unfortunate anomaly. All three of the reviews were shorter than a paragraph. One of them mentioned characters that didn't exist in my script, and the best piece of advice I got was "more needs to happen." It was just a reminder that most people are self-serving assholes, and that I shouldn't expect anything from anyone.

I had a better experience at screenplaycommunity.com - as part of their Split Screenplay contest. It's also free. The only weak thing is that you have to pay for your reviews. But, actually, I think that guilted some people into putting more thought into their reviews and coming up with some constructive things to say. I actually placed 11th, out of a total of about 200, which was nice. Anyway, I think they have another contest starting soon (if not already) - so maybe you should give it a shot.

Alright, best of luck again, and if you want to send me a copy of the script, just email it to unfun13@aol.com - pax romani. dlm

: I actually am getting a lot of help from some of the Reviewers at PGL. I would love to have ya take a look at it, though.
