No, of course he wasn't weaned on it, but he did do a fair amount of growing up with it. I had the pleasure of seeing the Jay and Silent Bob's Video Stash show this week (a friend had a tape)and they showed videos like Cyndi Lauper's contribution to the Goonies soundtrack, complete with a cast of wrestlers like Rowdy Roddy Piper and the Iron Sheik, along with Greg Kihn's "Jeopardy," which despite its cheesiness was an early MTV staple. It's always interesting to me to see the differences between the people who had cable at the time MTV came out, and those who didn't. It seems silly, but it really does make a difference in how you look at the 80's.
As for the monetary aspect, a buck's a buck, regardless of where it's coming from. I've got no problems with that, believe me! And MTV's more likely to let them have... well, if not free reign, a significantly looser leash than Disney was willing to (that's a partnership I NEVER understood). That's IF this goes through, which we fervently hope it will.
