1) It's RUMORED that the movie after Jay and Silent Bob Strike back is a Clerks animated movie called Clerks: Sell Out, but it's not Clerks 2. Keivn said that pretty much every movie after Clerks was a Clerks sequel.
2) In Clerks it said the next movie was Dogma, in Mallrats it said the next was Chasing Amy, and in CA it said the next would be Clerks 2: Hardly Clerkin'. Two films isn't much of a tradition.
3) Hinted? He flat-out said it. Whether reading is your friend or not, you should check out the Summaries, they answer about half the questions all newbies have.
