Yesterday I saw the trailer at the Ridge theater in Richmond, VA. Unfortunately, the rest of the audience didn't noticeably react to it- although if it's any consolation, it was a really small audience that seemed to consist mainly of 14-year-old kids, and they didn't have much of a reaction to any of the other trailers.
I've been hearing some Askewbians suggest that there's something wrong with the theatrical trailer itself. I suppose you could quibble with the editing or the scenes chosen to put in it, but it gave *me* a serious case of the giggles. Besides, based on the strong reaction this flick is getting from preview audiences and critics, I think that even if J&SBSB *does* get saddled with a crappy marketing campaign, it'll still be a hit thanks to good reviews and word-of-mouth. To draw parallels, when I first saw previews for "The Matrix" it struck me as being just another cookie-cutter sci-fi/action movie, but after I started reading the reviews I realized there was something really original and different about it.
