: What have been your general reactions to A.I?

Weird yet thought-provoking. I thought Spielberg would turn it into another neat, cutesy piece where everything was neatly and happily resolved at the end. But damned if he didn't make a film true to Kubrick's vision.

: I saw it tonight after being warned by EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO SAW IT...that it was shit.

Eyewitness like that, combined with good quips from top-shelf review sources, made me want to see it out of curiosity.

: Is it just me or is that flick a masterpiece (I think popular opinion says it's just me). I haven't been moved so much since BREAKING THE WAVES. What a cool movie....And deep...and intelligent...and fun...and weird.

Well, I wouldn't say MASTERPIECE, but it's quite a unique picture that should get people talking. The last part was especially weird, too. The ending seemed anticlimactic, but that's what you'd expect from a Kubrick piece anyway.

: I KNOW that Kubrick is smiling...wherever the fuck he is.

In-fuckin-deed.

Peace and Karats, Thomas
