I won't even make the bullshit excuse of him being a "non-actor" the guy was fucking incredable... Dante is (of all the Smith characters) the one I most identify with. This idenfitication relies on two factors: the script and Brian's acting. Was it a tour-de-force preformance? no because Clerks is not a tour-de-force movie. It's easily one of the most honest and raw films ever made, and for that one would need actors who fit those surroundings. Even if it was an option I can't imagine another actor doing a better job. Except for that fire extinguisher scene...

This isn't dick riding, I'm just trying to be honest.

however, if there was a person I didn't like or would have recast it would be Claire Forlani in Mallrats. I guess that could have been better, but even then...
