: : Loki was inebriated and didn't see Bartleby was going to kill him. When Jay shoots off Bartleby's wings, he runs out of buwwets. Serendipity and Rufus are to busy trying to stop Jay from shooting Bartleby and they notice that he shot of his wings when Bartleby does. They are too far away from him to stab him or kill him in any such manner, add to that the fact that he starts running for the church, hence the reason he isn't killed when his wings are shot off.
