yep.. and that's why he missed the point of the character when he made those movies.
Batman WAS a great movie.. I love it, and I've seen it many times.
HOWEVER...
It was not Batman.. I guess it was a "re-imagining" of the character.
It's become such a part of the mythos, tho', that no-one remembers laughing their ass off in the scene where Keaton has to look up in the suit and has to lean back like a limbo dancer. The costume was ludicrous, or so we all thought then.
I guess, finally, I have the answer to the question of how he screwed it up that bad.
And I, like many others, rejoiced when I found out he wasn't going to do Superman. *WHEW* Dodged a bullet there...
