I just can't accept the fact that you don't have to have story to go with your art. One without the other is a short story or a pin up. And even then, don't you see a picture and create a story in your head as to what has happened before and after the moment that has been caputred? When you read a book, don't you create pictures in your head? To me comics are a melding of story, art and the reader. I mean, I guess you can say comics are a visual medium in that it helps to be able to see the pictures and read the words...
I'll admit that I'm in the minority because I don't pick up books just for the art (DC would make a killing if they would publish a book of Adam Hughes Wonder Woman covers), but back to my original point, I also don't mind my books being to "wordy". Especially in Kevin's case. And I don't think that there is anything wrong with being wordy, as long as they are good words.
