We all know that Spielberg is a cinematic icon--perhaps the most appreciable American icon in the history of mainstream film--so the ostensible audience and box office failure (I'm assuming it wasn't cheap) of A.I. has me contemplating the potential shots that will be taken at it in the upcoming View Askew projects. Spielberg and his movies have been a dominant force of discussion in Smith's "pop culture minutia," so I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that an A.I. reference or two will pop up in the near future. Just for the record--I really admired A.I.; even though I can understand why some people could have problems with it. I guess what I'm trying to say is: if you feel the need to mock, consider avoiding rancor in consideration of Spielberg's aspirations for the film.
Thanks for your attention.
