I'm a writer myself and for a long time tried countless times to turn a really great idea I had into a screenplay...I kept scrapping it because I couldn't think of where to go, what this character should do ect ect, then I left it for awhile and came back to it and this may sound stupid but ideas just started coming to me and I'm happy to say my screenplays well into the halfway mark...my advice? walk away for a week or two...take a break then come back to it...some good ideas might come to you.
: : but nothing is coming to me and the stuff i try to write comes out really bad. so i was wondering if you'd like to : give an aspiring screenwriter some advice.
: You want to be a screenwriter but your stuff is bad. My advice? Write some good stuff. I know, this advice is shocking and a wee bit out of the ordinary, but trust me, good writing is like, much much better than bad writing.
: Keep writing, keep practicing, watch lots of good movies, read CREATIVE SCREENWRITING magazine, and then write some more, until it's good. And then show it to everyone you can and listen to what they have to say.
