I think this whole Burton-bashing thing is a bit ridiculous. A member of the press probably saw what Kevin wrote, and not caring if it was a joke or not, and told Burton, "Kevin totally dissed you online" and then proceeded to quote Kevin's stuff about the lawsuit, which taken out of context, would sound truthful.
Then Burton needed to cover his ass, and probably said something like "I'm so busy I never get a chance to read everything I actually want to read, so I especially would not have seen a comic. Therefore I have not seen the image and anybody that knows me knows I do not read comic books. And I especially wouldn't read anything that was created by Kevin Smith, because there are so many other authors that would be more worthy of my time."
I doubt Burton would deliver such a harsh dis to Kevin as the press made it out to be. Judging from his last two movies, he's SO hollywood, and people in Hollywood rarely let their real opinion show through, especially to the press.
As far as I'm concerned this is just a case of the press blowing things out of proportion. Don't hate Burton, hate the fucking press.
