FADE IN:

INT. MIKE'S LIVING ROOM - DAY

MIKE LOGAN is sitting on his ratty couch by the window. He's a 20 something slacker with his hat on backwards. MUSIC from a boombox PLAYS OVER SCENE. JOE PHREEK enters. Joe is Mike's best friend, dressed like another suburban refugee.

TWO SHOT AS JOE SITS

MIKE
Dude, how was your trip?

JOE
(smiles)
Dude, it was SWEET!
(beat)
But Angie dumped me for that faggot Paul Angus.

ANGLE ON MIKE as he shakes his head.

MIKE
Man, that's a bummer.
