It was great to see this in a sold out Theater in the heartland. It was obviously ViewAskew night at the local AMC. There is something about being in a dark room with a bunch of strangers enjoying the moving picutres (24 at a time).
Overall I liked it, but this is not nearly as good as Kevin gets. It's a lot like Mallrats and there is some seriously funny shit in here, but I have to say that if I watched this at home alone on video the first time, I would probably hated it except for the references to the other ViewAskew flicks.
There are some seriously classic moments and it's worth seeing a few times and the video DVD will be essential even for people that aren't completists, but this is NOT the best Kevin Smith movie. Of course when you have to contend with Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma, then that means it's still better than most shit out in theaters.
I'm left wondering what Kevin's got in store for the world AFTER this...
