i too have the 3006...it was one of the first 3 DVD players released in the US (along with the reference Sony and Toshiba 2006)...it has issues simply because it was the first...early adopters like myself have to just deal with stuff like this...oh well...i'm still looking forward to receiving my ABP DVD
: For example, on my dad's Toshiba 3006, after the FBI warning and the Synapse logo, the disc just plays a blank screen- the "audio options" menu refuses to come up like it's supposed to. You have to STOP the disc, then hit "menu" and it jumps to the main menu. Don May also has a Toshiba 3006, but his player doesn't exhibit this problem. For some reason, Toshibas just seem to have compatibility issues with a lot of DVDs. I'm glad it eventually played, hopefully it won't happen again.

: P.S.- If you don't have a Dolby Digital 5.1 system, BE SURE to select Dolby Digital 2.0 for sound playback.
