Alright I confess. I've lurked on this board for a few years now off and on. Well tonight I decided to bite the bullet and post. I'm in Savannah, GA by the way (where Affleck filmed Forces of Nature and Matt filmed Bagger
Vance), and the preview screening I attended was a SELL OUT! (150-250 seat theater) I saw one older couple and the rest of the theater was comprised of die-hard fans of View Askew. Every in-joke, every subtle line or casual reference to something from a previous film got a response. A girl sitting next to me was with some friends and was making sure everyone in the vicinity knew a friend of hers down a few rows was "the REAL Silent Bob." Thanks dear.
I loved the Biggs/Van Der Beek face off with Jay and Silent Bob. There were cheers when the Quick Stop appeared on screen, also when Dante and Randal appeared. Needless to say the Scooby scene also got very big laughs.
Jay's sex pantomime "mistake" was great. On a personal note, Eliza will you marry me? NO? Fair enough. But the filming of "Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season" and the Bluntsaber duel were the funniest parts in my opinion, although I'm sure I'm forgetting something. After the movie, only about 20-30 people left. Everyone else stayed put, listened to Afroman and watched the book get closed on The View Askewniverse. *sniff* No one stayed for The Others, although as I was leaving I did see the older lady pop her head out of the theater door and bark for her husband to get in there.
The film was outstanding. Thanks a million to Kevin for making a very funny film that did a wonderful job of wrapping up the saga. Here's hoping this one makes some fat $$$. I'll be seeing it again Friday more than once to boost ticket sales and to catch anything I missed the first time. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.
