The preview here in Ottawa was somewhat sparse as well (maybe 50 - 75 peeps) but the large majority were VA fans. Yeah, reaction was awesome. There were no trailers - a definite bonus - but the excitement was TANGIBLE when the movie started.
I must say that Kevin managed to pack a lot into the 2 hours. The VA references throughout were even better than the ones in Chasing Amy, and everyone died when Affleck started making fun of himself. Great side takes too.
There's not much else i can say without giving everything away but GODDAMN did we laugh. It was everything I had hoped for and then double, and although I know I'm gonna see this one a few times, I'm kinda sad to know that this is the last gig for Jay and Silent Bob (unless I have been misinformed). But the boys got sent off in style, and Kevin did right by all the fans. Are non-VA-philes gonna appreciate it as much as those of us who have followed the series so far? I think so, but a lot will be lost. If you're bringing a VA newbie to the flick, be sure to show them at least one or two of the other flicks, so they'll be *somewhat* in the know.
