It'll be a rough weekend at the box office... I mean, it's a boy! In a bubble! And let's face it - horrible, life-threatening illnesses are funny. Who here can honestly say they haven't laughed their asses off once or twice while watching "Steel Magnolias?" Huh? Am I right?
And not to mention the dark horse, "Ghost of Mars" - it could be a real contender! I can't think of a SINGLE John Carpenter film that's ever tanked at the box office - ever! Can you? And I can say, from the mass marketing juggernaught behind this flick, the story looks amazing! It's got... um... ghosts! And Mars! You know people are going to be lining up for this one... any picture with Ice Cube isn't just a movie; it's an event.
Let's just say a little prayer for the film that could... the movie that Joel Siegel of Good Morning America is (probably) calling "the feel good movie of the year!" (since ol' Joel seems to uncover about 600 "feel good movies of the year" every season)... "Glitter."
No, wait... um... I mean that other flick... "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." (although it's easy to understand why I could get them confused... why do I get the distinct feeling that fellatio played a large role in BOTH of those films?)
