Hey, this is old news to some, but I caught Planet of the Apes the other night. Not a bad movie, but hardly Burton-esque, if you ask me. I now know what the big hulla-baloo about the "Chasing Dogma" ending was all about. All those people saying that they didn't understand it? Gimme a break. It's not overly difficult. 1-Marky Mark went forward in time rather than back when he took Pericles' pod. 2-It was just a mind fuck. I'm leaning toward the second one there. I think they just wanted to be like Wayne and Garth from SNL. "It was all just a dream...or was it!? Whoaaaa!!!" I don't think they intended an actual meaning behind it.
Anyhooter, this ain't a POTA forum, so let's get with the VA talk. I know this is also probably yesterday's bundled papers, but what's with this Clerks animated movie I recently read about? Is this seriously in the works? How close to making a deal are they? Did I just fart? I recently purchased Clerks:TAS (for VHS-shut up, it's still good!) and was blown away as to how the ABC muckmucks could cancel it! I thought it was hilarious, and so did my brother, who isn't a fanboy. I wish I had of seen it while it was broadcast on tv, but I think I was playing road hockey that night.
How long of a drive would it be from Toronto to Red Bank? I have holiday time coming up, and am tossing around the idea of meandering on down there south of the border to check out the Secret Stash, amongst other things. However, I'm a little wary of crossing into the States, as the last time I tried coming back into Canada (in Victoria, B.C.) my friend and I were almost strip-searched for having "green flakes" in the console.
Can't wait to see the DVD of J&SBSB when it comes out. I just want to pause it when Ali Larter appears on screen in that black leather get-up. OHMIGOD! I think that will be my new all-time cinematic moment, next to the whole "37 times" thing.
1000 screens in North America, and not one of them in Barrie! (45 minutes north of Toronto, and yes, we Canadians do have movies. Our chief brought them in last year, along with indoor plumbing) How's a guy supposed to catch a sneak preview with such tomfoolery going on?
