How did I miss this connection before?

Ok, was bored, felt like shit, decided to watch a few movies.

So, I'm sitting here watching "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" that's been sitting on my shelf since last year and they mention LaFours as being the most feared law-man...then later it was mentioned that he always wears a white straw hat....

ok...wait...I've seen this in a recent movie.

So I find my copy of Mallrats and LaFours is the most feared mall security guard...who happens to wear a white hat (or stupid hat on Jay's blue prints)

I've seen Mallrats about enough times that I've worn out two VHS copies (god bless DVD) and I've seen Butch Cassidy about three times....how'd I miss this, am I even right or am I just rambleing on making no sense whatsoever?
