To Kevin Smith,
I remember being highly stressed out working at blockbuster video. . .i saw the back of the coverbox of clerks and figured to give it a shot. Fuck talk about films totally talking right to you. Then i saw mallrats after. Then i decided to give Chasing Amy a try, and didn't get laughs, but got (please correct me if i'm wrong) one of the most insightful films that showed your talents as a writer and i've applied and realized in my everyday life. . .some of the girls i've known have just been like Alyssa. I just walked out of JSBSB today and i wanted to say that i hope you make alotta cash off of it, i'm in love with film and love the fact that I got to see one made by a guy who's obviously in love with pop-culture and shooting people engaging in verbal odysseys. No i'm not asking for a job here, but it would be hella awesome if we could chill sometime, to talk film or people anything, like at a film festival or something. Being that you're a filmmaker and all, i know that i got more of a chance being struck by lighting twice than you reading this, let alone wanting to meet a fan/aspiring filmmaker. But I've read that you're thankful as hell to have gotten where you are, and maybe that you're different from hollywood. So i leave it in your hands, whether or not you'd like to chat sometime with some wannabe fanboy in person and talk flix and ideas, but even if you don't i'd sincerely appreciate a response at nights99@aol.com, if possible. Sorry if this whole notion sounds pretty ridiculous but hey that's the stuff dreams are made of right?
