: actually, the Bible says 'believe on the name of Jesus as Lord and you will be saved'. when Jesus died on the cross, it means we cannot be saved by 'works'. God does have a law, but no one can be saved by following it. that is why Jesus died for our sins. He was the only being to adhere to God's laws perfectly, without sin. it's not about rules, otherwise, no one could ever make it in. it's salvation by faith, not by works. : : : I think my problem with religion is that there's too many rules, and too much hypocrisy. Being religious is a chore, it's not something you enjoy. It's not just believe in God and you're in, oh no. You must think this and do this and do NOT think that or do that or YOU'RE GOING TO HELL! You have to devote every sunday to church, and you can't tell me you don't find it f'ing boring (I went to a catholic high school, so this is coming from experience). It shouldn't be a chore to have faith and believe in God, it should be something joyful and fun. The church has sucked all of the fun out of it. If God does exist, and I'm not saying he does or does not (I'm an agnostic so I don't believe in either), I'm sure he would be fine with people just believing in him.
