First off I have to say thank you to the entire View Askew crew, and everyone thats been in the flicks. I saw the sneak preview of Jay and Silent Bob,then went with my sister and her boyfriend opening night. Well needless to say, they had never seen any of the previous movies, and the week following up i forced upon them the entire library, including the Clerks animated, and after we watched them all,I then unleashed the commentary tracks to them.I am proud to say the both of them are running around yelling "Snooch to the mothafuckin nooch!!!!" and while mere weeks ago they castrated me for saying snoogans, they are fully converted. I bow in humility to you Kevin, you truly do reach people like no other writer or director.I must also thank you for peaking my interest in directing. I have always enjoyed writing, and creating characters, but thanks to your inspiration I am planning on persuing film school following college. I even started a few screenplays.I have the love story, the mafia story, and the all out comedy. All my friends say I should recreate the Dogma scene where you profess your love of John Hughes movies, but make it Kevin Smith, and put me in your place. Now that ass kissing is done with I have to tell you this weekend I will be seeing Jay and Bob for the 3rd time, with a girl that has only seen Clerks. Needless to say, she will be required to indulge in some of my Kevin Smith crash courses I've recently been giving out.Jay and Bob was historic, hilarious and even a bit depressing. Why depressing? Come on Kev,you gotta admit that seeing Alanis close the book after the credits brought a tear to your eye, huh? Well once again Kev, thanks for giving inspiration to a 20 year old Star Wars quoting, comic book shirt wearing, and lost soul from Houston some great direction in life.If you're ever in town drop me a line newstncld@aol.com and I'll take you out to all the great comic shops.
The force is strong with this one Kevin.
