I don't understand it. I saw Jay and Silent Bob on Saturday, and I laughed my ass off. There were many inside jokes, so not seeing the other movies can be a hinderance. I've only seen Dogma and parts of Clerks (On FX, which does the movie no justice). But that didn't stop me from enjoying this movie. There were very few parts where I wasn't laughing. But still critics decide that J&SBSB just didn't cut it.
Where did they not think this movie wasn't funny? Maybe it's possible that they felt Jason Mewes going down on Carrie Fischer was a bit too crude, but not me...
Plus, what the hell do they expect? When you're only working with a $20 million budget with so many top-rate actors taking pay cuts to make this movie, there is going to be some areas where costs are going to be cut...
So, so far you've made a great movie with an askew view of religion, and now a movie that subtly (and at points not-so-subtly) bitch-slaps Hollywood....Should there be a new one that gives a reach-around bitchslap to movie critics?
Thanks for the great work, Kevin
