Kevin is not hanging up his boots as a filmmaker, he's just hanging up the trenchcoat. You see, Jay and Silent Bob have seen their end in live action movies (unless Kev sneaks them in in cameos). The clerks cartoon is not live action, so they can appear in that. He is attached to Fletch Won, and wants to have Jason Lee star, but right now, it appears as though there is not much to report on on that front. He has stated that his next film will be closer in tone to Chasing Amy, and it will be on the topic of fatherhood. So therefore, just because "Jay and Silent Bob have left the building," that does not mean that Kevin Smith has as well. Is it clear now?
