I agree that the CLERKS comics--like the cartoon show--don't necessarally have to be fit into the same continuity (there's that word again) as the movies. Well, except for CLERKS: LOST SCENE, which takes place during the first movie. The only comics stories that were really designed to fill in gaps in the movies' history were the JAY & SILENT BOB series and the "Walt Flanagan's Dog" story from ONI DOUBLE FEATURE #1.
I could buy that Jay & Bob just happened to encounter two different orangutans named "Suzanne", since they did meet those orangutans under different circumstances. I just found it hard to acept that the whole "Fugutive" knock-off scene with the sewers and the waterfall could happen to them twice.
I suppose, if you accept the theory that J&SBSB takes place before DOGMA and after AMY, you could explain that #3 of the comic book series was a drug-induced dream/flashback the guys were having. But then, if J&SBSB takes place in-between AMY and DOGMA, how do you explain the comic book series showing Jay & Bob leaving for Chicago on a bus immediately afte they leave Holden in the restaurant?
Uh, Kevin...a little help here??
