How does J&SBSB fit into the Askiewniverse?

Alright, now before I saw the new movie, I thought I had the timeline down. However, now I'm all confused. Where exactly does J&SBSB strike back fit into the other 4 movies? I mean, we see jay and bob with suzanne at the end of mallrats, however it seems like in J&SBSB it is their first meeting with the orangutan. ALSO confusing is the sign that Dante made in Clerks, the "Yes, I assure you, we're open" sign. That is still up in J&SBSB. Again, can anyone clear this up?
