kevin smith has never really disappointed. From the moment I rented clerks when I was in eigth grade and then watched my copied VHS tape till it broke. Ive been a die hard kevin smith fan. Mallrats ranks into my top 3 favorite movies of all time along with 'life is beautiful' and 'a bronx tale' Pay no attention to the sluggish box office sales and the unfair pannings by the critics. Weezer's Pinkerton was rated by rolling stone as tthe worst album of 96 and it sold poorly. But now everyone thinks it is GREAT. Also wasn't Rocky panned by siskel and ebert ? I expected Chasing Amy to be a laugh out loud comedy but it turned out to be a great flick. (I think the movie should be more fairly placed in the drama section of the video store) Dogma rocked especially since I went to grammar school with Fransican nuns. GREAT MOVIE! But I didnt fall out of my seat because of uncontrolable laughter like the his old movies someHOW! I knew !!! - the next movie to come was going to do JUST that ...
BAM - I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS GONNA BE THIS GOOD!!! SNOOGINS
Im from Jersey (i represent North Bergen my hme of 20 years and Jersey City my second home where i attended high school, church youth group , played basketball , and the city where you can find me on a general "chill nite" ) Long live the stanley theatre! I LOVE JERSEY and although the duo is being retired. There was was movie that I was hoping Kevin Smith would make. Maybe he could team up with Mark and mark publishers of the magazine Weird NJ. Have the duo for 1 LAST TIME some chase for something awsome like thresure a la The Goonies ... but include many of NJ's most famous sites featured in Weird NJ magazine , tresspassing, run ins with the cops (where Jays loud mouth would obviously get them into MORE trouble ) The title of the movie would obviously be Weird NJ. I think it would totally work ! And this way the duo would go out in Jersey style.
thanks to kev for the great movies and for staying young at heart , i wish ya years of fame and successful films
