: Alright, so let's say you've seen Dogma (and I know you have), here's a question for you. If you were non affiliated with any sort of religion, would this be an enjoyable film to you because it does in some cases attack organized religion, but not God? Or would you just pass on it due to it's dealings with the fact there is a God. Now, if you did profess to some sort of religion, would you hate this movie for its sometimes indictment of religion? Or would you appreciate it as a thought provoking piece that rarely comes outta Hollywood?

Kevin's known for satirizing everything, and he does indeed satirize the Catholic Church in this movie. But he also points out the positives (hence Rufus, Serendipity, Metatron, and even a perky, smiling Alanis Morisette as God). I don't think I could be offended by someone simply pointing out the flaws in the church. Martin Luther did the same thing. His theses posted on the church door were never meant to start the Protestant church. In fact, he later denounced the movement harshly, and backed any and all efforts to stop it. Kevin was along the same lines. He never truly said that organized religion was bad. I think that he sees it as a very important piece of life for a great many people, and that it could use improvement.
