A little info for ya though. Last i heard it was $20,000 to book kevin for an appearance. This was what i heard a while back, so it may have increased. At first i thought this was very very unusual and extremely high, and made me think semi-badly of kevin for demanding such an outragous amount....
then, after a few threads of people kev bashing, kevin responded with remarks such as what follows.
he mentioned how he used to do things like this for little of nothing(or nothing, in some cases) and loved it. but the requests started taking up alot of his time. and now he has a wife and a child and he wants to devote all free time to them. the amount was raised to what it is/was to filter out most of the requests. he said most colleges have funds set away each year for things such as this, and the amount is quite considerable considering most universities budget for such things. he said most schools are very open to the idea, if enough interest is attracted. he also mentioned how other "celebrities" ask for much much higher amounts. i know that jennifer lopez requests around 250 grand per appearance. now, this is just my opinion, but i can not really imagine what jennifer lopez would have to say except "look at my large ass....wheres my money...oh yeah, i dated puff daddy".
This is more information than i am sure you needed. i just wanted to let ya know what you were up against. i say go for it, because i have been to schools where kevin has spoken before, and they have all been great. and kevin will not leave until every person has had the chance to talk to him or get his autograph. if the powers that be at the school will allow, in some cases it can go into the wee hours of the morning. so its well worth your effort to set the wheels in motion and see what comes of it.
