Here is a story from good old Chattanooga. I know we aren't all dumb ass backwoods rednecks down here, but when things like this happen, it makes it hard to prove it.
"Song Banned From A Chattanooga Station
A Chattanooga radio station is banning a popular song-- saying the lyrics are too racy. "Power-94" WJTT will not play the song titled "Because I Got High." They say the song glorifies marijuana use and sends the wrong message.
But listeners of KISS FM have made the song that station's number one hit for the past week-- and they see nothing wrong with playing what the people want. Tommy Chuck with KISS FM says, "I mean you could pick out records on any radio station at any time of day that could be a disservice to one particular listener not just this song".
Keith Landecker with POWER 94 counters,"But this particular song is just so in your face, and I have to think about some of the younger people that are listening to the radio station because everybody don't get high." Power-94 says they also don't play some so-called "ganster-rap" songs because of the way they portray women."
