DVD: Is it worth buying from the Stash?

I've recently invested in a DVD player which is supposedly multi-region, although I haven't had chance to try any American Region 1 discs yet (I'm in Great Britain by the way).

If you didn't already know, over here Region 2 land our DVD's are, generally speaking, far inferior to the ones that you get over there in terms of options, bonus features etc. In fact in comparison they're pretty turd. Anyway, I'm looking at getting my Kevin Smith collection started via ordering online. I checked out the Stash and Amazon, and the price difference seems to be pretty big, plus there's the fairly pricey shipping costs. I realize that you can get signed copies from the stash, and suffice to say I'd love to have them signed, but I'm not sure whether I can afford to dish out that much extra.

An added problem is that I have to keep working out the exchange rate from dollars to pounds, so I can figure out exactly how much I'm actually spending, but that's beside the point.

So, what do you people think is the best course of action? Where do you get your discs and how?
