: Can anyone here be a little honest, get off KS's dick for a second, and tell me if I'm alone on this or if you agree?
: Clerks- genius.

agreed

: Mallrats- a fun throwback to the old days of "teen tits" movies

Not really. It wanted to be but there was a lot of things holding Kevin back it would seem. Some funny moments; but I was disapointed

: Chasing Amy- Kevin's best and last great work.

I do think it's his best work to date; but I don't think it's his last

: Dogma- okay, but not fully realised.

Dogma has definetly grown on me. I think it's his only movie that grows on you in a thematic way. Not just "Man I missed that joke the first three times"; but more of a "Oh, I see what he was getting at". It had some problems; but it was a fine movie.

: J&SBSB- fun, but not much of a movie.

Well, I don't know if it was much of a movie or not; but I honestly laughed my ass off. And I'm pretty sure I wasn't sitting on Kevins dick at the time I was laughing. Time will have to tell; but I thuroughly enjoyed it; as did my wife.

: In MY opinion, Clerks gave us a hint of genius, Amy proved KS a master of the form, but the rest of the flicks were a little disappointing.

I think this statement says something about your view of movies. I thought Clerks was great; but it sure as hell didn't show him to be a master of the form. What form exactly anyway? Clerks was a great script that Kevin did his best to make into a movie. There was a lot of lousy execution in the making of the movie and plenty of reasons why. (no budget, no veteran actors, no experience really at any level). The fact that the movie transcends those mistakes speaks to his writing. So might agree that he showed he could be a master of the art form of writing. As a film maker he is getting better all the time; but I don't think a master.

: I love Kevin's stuff, but I just wish he would let his talent shine through instead of trying to hook up his pals.

Do you think he is holding back?
