: Who would let their child(ren) watch Clerks - J&SBSB movies? Maybe it's just me ..... BUT I do set limits on the 'R' movies, even for my 12 yo. Is that is prudish?

Its not prudish to let a child be a child. There is plenty of time to be a grownup, but only a short time to be innocent and ignorant. My 8 year old is blissfully ignorant of lots of the sexual banter in the said flicks. She also does not watch things with heavy adult themes and violence. Why? Because I feel such things need to be introduced slowly in life with respect for your own family's values and the environment. A 12 year old has probably heard the language but may not be ready to process it. You never want to take a kid who lives a sheltered life and start to blast them with all kinds of stuff.

I think 15 is the right age to allow a child into Clerks or JASBSB. You need a year of high school under your belt, IMO.
