: Do you really have to call Kevin Smith a "Tubby son of a bitch"? Oh well, it made me laugh. To Mark, welcome, I like you are still relatively new here too. Started by reading the archives and the old discussion boards and I'm sure I've pist off a few of the long time posters on this board w/ my inexperience. However, to attempt an answer to your question, Chasing Amy and Dogma are both really indies in the fact that they were not mainstream, subject matter and apporch (spl?) Sorry it's 3:45am where I'm at and I just got off work after cleaning up from a big B-day party at the bar- I'm tired and wired. I'm glad there are others out there at this time. Anyhoo, so as I was saying Kevin Smith has only to my knowledge from interviews and the archives has only had MALLRATS as the only studio really involved movie, the others have been on his own merits. He's a fucking genius, the way he writes his characters, sets his movies w/ tone and presence to allow the film to be about dialogue and response is what I find most fascinating, besides any movie that can make me laugh and think at the same time is a classic in my opinion. Getting long winded again, didn't sign on as wordy for nothing.

SO THE MAN HAS BROUGHT AN INDIE FILM INTO THE MAINSTREAM ALREADY. LET THE TUBBY SON OF A BITCH MOVE ON TO NEW THINGS. AS LONG AS HE KEEPS TREATING THE FANS RIGHT AND WRITING KICKASS MOVIES, ILL KEEP WATCHING THEM.
