In Reply to: Anybody use Netflix? ABP related... posted by Marvin Lee on September 16, 2001 at 00:31:31:
I had ABP in my Netflix rental queue for months prior to it's actual release. Then I received the following e-mail from them prior to it's release:
"The movie A Better Place(1997)
has been removed from your rental queue.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, will no longer offer it as part of our rental assortment. Please check our site periodically as the availability
of this title could change.
Here at Netflix, we strive to maintain the largest selection
of rentable titles available.
Again we apologize for the inconvenience and hope you find another movie on our web site.
Thank you,
The Netflix Team"
After receiving this, I forwarded it to the guys at Newsaskew.com to ask if they knew what the deal was and also posted it to alt.video.dvd in response to a post from Vincent about ABP's release. Never heard a reason/response from either, though...
Cheers,
Todd
: I just signed up with Netflix and noticed that they don't currently have A Better Place. While I know it doesn't mean as much as DVD sales probably would, I'm wondering if anybody has requested the movie from Netflix and if so how it should be done. Maybe there are lots of us who would like to see the movie and we can justify its inclusion in their library...
: (I checked the last 5 or 6 boards for "Netflix" in the subject line but saw nothing like this. I try to read the board daily, but there's just so much traffic that this could have been duplicated. If so, I'm sorry about the duplication.)
