Very true. One reason why I am no longer Catholic.

Sort of. In my estimation, Catholicism = Christianity + All sorts of Paganistic rituals the Roman empire contained before it tried to asssimilate Christianity into itself.
You see, kids, the Roman Empire, whenever they took over a country or people, rather than force them to convert to the Roman religion, they would incorporate that nation's religious beiefs into their own. When Christianity started to get big around the second or third century, this is what happened. The Romans took Christian beliefs and incorporated them into their pagan rituals to form Catholicism. This is where the ceremony of the Eucharist came from, among others.
