You said it was your first draft, right? Before you send if off or contemplate production costs, put it in a drawer. Move on to the next treatment or new script. Then, go back to the drawer in two weeks time. Re-read what you wrote: polish dialogue, mix-up scene orders, and get rid of access narrative fat. You never want to send out a first draft. Always edit and polish. The story can always be fine-tuned for the better.

Then, sit down with a legal pad and make some lists--If it's reasonable to put up the money yourself, that is. Equipment. Casting. Distribution. Can you get to Sundance, or any of its workshops? If you need outside financing--take a page from Sam Raimi when he put the first two Evil Deads together: make a film short. Put on a tie. Write out a presentation. Rally up some investor money.

I'm a new poster on this site, but a long-time reader of the comments and questions that folks put up here. A lot of y'all want to know how to write scripts, and get 'em made. Cool. Just know, it takes work and dedication. But--you roll up yours sleeves, and you be smart about it: the dream will happen. Good luck!
