As I mentioned below, I've got at least four (possibly five) college gigs
coming up between Oct. 1st and mid-December. Usually, this wouldn't be
news. I only bring it up now because there's something kind of cool going
on with the college gigs this year.

After the success of 'Dogma' on DVD (we moved eight hundred thousand of the
bare bones version and over two hundred and fifty thousand of the Special
Edition), Mike Stratford of Columbia TriStar (they who released 'Dogma' on
home video) suggested shooting all my college gigs this fall and putting
out a DVD - something along the lines of "An Evening With Kevin Smith" or
"Silent Bob Speaks". Mike had attended the sold-out Q&A I did at the
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences last year, and thought a taped
version of the event could find an audience. I dug the idea, so we're
moving forward with it.

JM Kenny (he of the 'Rats' and 'Dogma' DVD's fame) is directing. At each
school, there will be three to four cameras rolling - two on me and two on
the folks asking questions. So if you're in the area of any of the
forthcoming college appearances, come armed with great questions, and you
may find yourself immortalized on home video.

Col/Tri is looking for a spring release of the DVD.
