My girlfriend is bi. She loves Dogma and Clerks the most. She liked J&SBSB. But she didn't like Chasing Amy. She thinks its okay but she thinks the plot is far fetched. She doesn't like the "lesbian just finds the right man" thing. I know thats not what the movies saying, but its hard to explain. And she said something about stereotypes but I don't know what she's talking about there.

: Okay, so, I'm a big internet loser (as in, not very into all this message board/chat room stuff) but I've been desperatly wanting to get my opinion about this subject out in the open for a while an felt this as the appropriate place. I am a bisexual woman and I LOVE everything I have everseen of Kevin Smith's work (includin Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back). Upon first hearing about the whole GLAAD controversy about JSBSB I was disappointed and assumed I would basically agree with what Scott Seomin said as I tend to. Then the student run newspaper at my University ran a story bashing GLAAD and not doing jutic to issue and I was even morepissed. Then I went to see the film and I could't top laughing the entire time. Yes, Jay says some unfortunate things but I really have to say that I felt the overall mood of the film was very gay-positive. And as far as I'm concerned the end bit at the heater was worth my money. :) So, as an ad hoc representative for the gay community (whether or not they all agree wih me) I would like to say congratulations and thank you to Kevin Smith, the cast, and everyone at View Askew for making and continuing to make such wonderful films. (And I know this is REAL long so, I'm done now.)
